If you only see a limited selection of posts from your friends on facebook you can change your settings to see posts from all your friends and pages. From your newsfeed click “most recent” in the upper right corner. Now click on the small triangle next to most recent to get the drop down menu to appear. Choose “edit options” and a new box will appear. Select show posts from “All of your friends and pages” and click save. Your newsfeed will now show posts from everyone you are friends with.

A Hotspot is public or private wireless access to the internet. A word of advice, when using a public hotspot. Set your internet settings to public. Windows 7 will prompt you when you connect to do this. This will protect your computer from being accessed. When set to public the security on your wireless connection is restricted to outgoing internet access. This will ensure that someone connected to the same network, cannot access your shared files or settings on your computer.

Tethering turns your phone into a Wi-Fi Hotspot. Once tethering is enabled, you can connect your laptop, wireless capable computer or tablet to the internet utilizing your phones internet connection.

On an IPhone go to settings and click on general. Then click network and you will see button for Setup Personal Hotspot. When you click it you will be prompted to contact your mobile provider to enable. Be careful when enabling this feature with AT&T. If you have an unlimited data package you will have to forfeit this plan for one of the new data plans.

There are many different Android phones on the market. Contact your service provider to find out if you phone is capable of tethering.

How do I connect to wireless a network?

You must be in the vicinity of a wireless network (hot spot).

In windows XP go to start > control panel. Click on network connections. You will see a icon with the label wireless network connection. Click on the icon and highlight the network you would like to connect to. The network should be secured if it is your personal wireless. Enter the password for the network. The preferred security meathod is WPA security. If your network is not seucred give Simplefusion a call to help you secure your network.

In Windows 7 click start and then connect to. In the show list click wireless. You’ll see a list of the wireless networks currently available. Click a network and then click connect.
